Descartes believe that there are things outside mathematics and logic. These things can be known with absolute certainty. But, is there anything that can be inferred from these things with the same degree of certainty?
He says that he knows himself very well and knows his powers and limits. Therefore, there must be a powerful God who created earth, the skies and everything else. The creator must be perfect to be able to create everything around us. Descartes knows that he cannot be the creator because the creator cannot create things more perfect than he is.
Maintaining the Unity of Lordship is based on a fundamental concept that God alone caused all things to exist when there was nothing. All religions believe that God sustained and maintains creation without any need from it or for it. And He is the sole Lord of the universe and it's inhabitants without any real challenge his power. In Arabic the word used to describe this creator quality is Ruboobeeyah which is derived from the root "Rabb" which means LORD. So, God is the only real power in existence. God gave all things to move and to change. Nothing happens in creation except what he allows to happen. In recognition for this reality Prophet Mohammed said that (there is no movement nor power except by God's will). The Quraan also emphasizes the idea by saying that " Allah created all things and He is the agent which all things depend."
