So what you are telling me is that because of some Mayan
Calendar created thousands of years ago you
believe that the Earth as we know
it will be non-existent as of December 2012? Okay crazy…
Aww the end of the
world topic, Yes it is coming but no we do not know the exact date.
I have been
to dozens of lectures where this topic is brought up, it seems like we are whipping a dead horse everytime... The end of the world,
which will be a catastrophic event, a huge meteor striking and wiping away all
life forms from Earth. My Geography class sophomore year spent an entire three
weeks devoted to discussing this one topic. Constant questions from the class
made me go crazy because they really actually believed
this F***** up S#iT. I
have always doubted that this was going to happen, how could a calendar created
thousands of years ago be accurate to the very day of when the world was
ending… how the hell would the Mayans know?
I found many YouTube videos showing
exactly what “will” happen on this horrible day that so many people believe in
even though NASA and other credible sources have debunked this myth. Like many
of the “doomsday” myths that have circulated including Y2K and May 2011 it is a
dangerous and harmful thing for people to believe in. Trusting the Mayan
Calendar to predict these things will no doubt cause social panic and chaos
very soon. People will begin to make lavish purchases outside of their means,
commit suicide to avoid a horrific death and go insane until 12am December 22nd
2012 when we all blink and realize we are all still here…. Damn, I told you shouldn’t
have bought that Porsche… blame the Mayans its their fault.
The rhetoric used in this video is insane... Using the bible verses and visual images... its a long video but worth a watch if you're bored.

I agree, I think that the End of the World hype was a bit dramatic. One point that I heard of which I thought was clever was that daylight savings time hadn't been created yet so the date is way off (I can't remember what that day was). But, the date has already passed. In your face, believers.
